No Parking Charge in Sibu

The Chairman and friends,
Sibu, Sarawak.                                                                            4 JUNE, 2013

Dear Mr Chairman and friends,
No Parking Charge in  Sibu
On behalf of the people in Sibu, I plead you to tell SMC (Sibu Municipal Council) not to impose parking fee to other areas other than the Sibu town centre.  It is good that SMC does not impose the vehicle parking  charge in such areas as the shopping lots where Ribunan Hijau (Tiong Thai King and his extended family own) office resides opposite Jalan Poh Yew along Jalan Lanang;  the shopping lots behind the Rejang Medical Centre; Farley commercial centre, Sing Kwong commercial centre ……………..

2.  Here, I would like to plead you to tell the SMC not to impose parking charge at the bus terminal in Li-Hua shopping lots in Pahlawan.  If possible undo the areas in the Rejang Park; Delta Mall…… outside the main town centre where it has imposed the parking fees.  SMC once imposed parking charge for the reason to deter some car owners to occupy limited parking bays all day long in the Sibu main town centre and deprived others the chance.  But SMC soon turned it to be a source of income to upkeep high expenses incurred due to wastage of different kinds.  It is very unfair to us, people.

3.   Please  tell them  that it is very unfair to tell us that it needs the fines or the parking fees from the Sibu people to upkeep the areas concerned.  Each house and each shop pays Rate and Assessment fee to SMC.  If it still does  not have enough money to maintain, well, we would like SMC  to request the Federal government and the state government for more fund allocations.  They  just cannot exploit the Sibu people anymore.  We have paid enough taxes of different kinds and natures.

4.  It is very unfair to impose parking charge in some areas and not in certain areas.  This will adversely affect the businesses in the areas where parking charge is imposed.

Thank you for your attention.
