“RM5k solution to RM350k
problem—Businessman confounds minister by connecting piped water to his village
with just a fraction of estimated cost ” (The Borneo Post 27/9/2014)
The village had been
denied of this infrastructure facility because it was considered uneconomical
to carry out the work of installation for few families there.
The businessman Ho Yen
Guan only used RM5000 to do it instead of RM350,000 as estimated by Public
Works Department to carry out the installation.
What a big
difference! Hence I suggest our BN
government to empower the locals to carry the intended projects for their own
good and benefit.
This definitely will help
create job opportunities and uphold the principal of democracy and fairness. This will also help smash the serious
problem of monopoly.
Trusting the locals who
have the ability and capacity with the intended projects will help save a lot
of unnecessary cost and trouble. Empower
the locals, please.
Smash the practice of
rent-seeking of those who have the access to the projects. Fairness is only possible in open tender when the locals are
empowered to carry out the projects.
