Rep claims contracts in S’wak terminated to stop leaks

BINTULU: The Pakatan Harapan (PH) federal government has terminated project contracts involving huge sums of money in Sarawak to stop leakages, according to Tanjong Batu assemblyman Chiew Chiu Sing.
        The Democratic Action Party (DAP) Bintulu chairman claimed in a press statement yesterday that this is because the federal government knows that funds allocated to Sarawak have not been used properly, making the cuts necessary to save the country from further future losses and wastage.
        He said while it is good Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has said federal projects in Sarawak would proceed, the funds would go missing should they fall into the wrong hands.
        According to him, if Sarawak is still managed by the same group of people, the public would not be able to benefit from the projects.
     “We in Sarawak must make drastic reforms. We know that under the present regime, many of the policies are beneficial only to the cronies or the big companies.
     “If we do not change after 55 years of their rule, we can only get worse as the gap between the rich and the poor will worsen. From history, we can know that if the situation is not improved, the stability of society and the state will be further weakened,” stated the DAP Sarawak deputy chairman.
        He claimed the current policies only benefited a few people, which could be seen in the ‘Sarawak for Sarawakians’ mindset.
        According to Chiew, this is where only a small group hope to continue to rule and benefit, and that they are the only ones who can call themselves Sarawakian.
He pointed out that Sarawak has abundant land resources which many states or even countries lack, yet the people face problems of not being able to obtain land.
       “This is most disappointing and ironic. Scarcity of land makes the price of houses go up, which in turn directly affects the low-income people,” said Chiew.
He suggested reforming land policy and allowing more people to apply for and obtain land for agriculture, which would not only benefit the people, but also improve economic development and productivity as well as attract more foreign investment.

My comments:
This is another federal-centred, minded, and oriented traitor and idiot who speaks from the federal autocratic standpoint.   If Sarawak had the contracts with China or countries elsewhere, would the countries dealing with Sarawak say like that?  Well, let Sarawakians tell you what we decide to do in 2021.  All Malayan parties should get out of Sarawak for good, otherwise, we will see more traitors and idiots like Chiu Sing Chiew (DAP).

KAPIT: A land­slide has oc­curred along Jalan Kapit- Song, after the Sun­gai La­jang bridge, around 20 min­utes’ drive from Song bazaar.

        Heavy rain­fall is be­lieved to have trig­gered the land­slide, caus­ing earth, stones, and de­bris to wash down the hill­side by the side of the R3- stan­dard road.

       It is un­der­stood that the land­slide also blocked part of the storm drain in the area.

        While the road is pass­able, fur­ther rain could cause more land­slides and en­dan­ger road users, es­pe­cially mo­tor­cy­clists.
        Road users have called on the au­thor­i­ties con­cerned to ad­dress the is­sue, as land­slides are said to oc­cur fre­quently in the area.
        They have also re­quested the au­thor­i­ties to erect warn­ing signs to en­sure mo­torists are alert and more cau­tious when us­ing the stretch of road.  Jalan Kapit- Song, which is 44km long, was com­pleted in Oc­to­ber.
        The jour­ney be­tween Song and Kapit now takes just an hour by road.

My comments:
        Landslides on various scales often happen in Kapit.  Kapit is at the downstream of Bakun and Murum dams.  It is understood that it is prone to this problem as Kapit is on the hilly area.  I got all this information through the reports in the Borneo Post.

Irresponsibility main factor for landslide, says Tiong

December 12, 2018, Wednesday at 12:14 AM KUCHING: The main factor that caused the landslide at Pan Borneo Highway between Tatau and Bintulu that rendered the road impassable was not the heavy rain in the last few days but irresponsibility and negligence of the contractors and supervisory authorities.

          This was pointed out by Bintulu MP Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing in a statement yesterday.
          He said those involved in the building of the highway must take full responsibility for the disaster as the cause of the landslide was poor drainage of that section and lack of protection of the slope on the side of the road.
         “There is no excuse for the consultants and engineers for not taking all the necessary precautions in their design as they are highly paid professionals they should have foreseen the consequences of accumulation of water in the soil due to inadequate drainage and lack of slope protection.”
         Tiong also questioned Minister of Works Baru Bian who recently pledged to personally monitor the project and was reported to have declared he was satisfied with the progress and construction of the highway.
         “Obviously the minister must have made only superficial inspection of the implementation of the project sites as how could he say that he was satisfied when the design and construction of the road were flawed.
         “If the minister had demanded a more comprehensive briefing he would have seen that the culverts used to drain the water from the soil were inadequate and even a layman could see there was no protection for the slope that had been cleared of trees and vegetation along the road.”
         The Bintulu MP called on the Works Minister to instruct the Public Works Department (JKR) to conduct more stringent supervision on the construction of the road and LebuhRaya Borneo Utara (LBU), the project delivery partner of the Pan Borneo Highway, to keep a stricter control of the contractors.
         “Some parties could have cut corners in carrying out their work and did not follow the specifications of their contract and JKR and LBU have failed in their supervisory duties.”
         Tiong pointed out that the landslide had affected the schedule for the completion of the highway and called on Baru to conduct checks on other stretches of the highway which may be affected by landslides.
         “He must make sure the contractors follow the specification of their contracts and review the designs of the parts of the road that are susceptible to landslides.”

        民调Sibu中央市场和周末市场配合自己上市场时间。一举两得/多得。从要接受民调只给名字和电话。问过很多民众。80% 的人都想独立。愿意接受民调给名字和电话的不多。 但是对我来讲，是跟市场做生意和顾客打开一个话题是挺有趣的。 所以也有那种不亦乐乎的感觉。民调是有点吃力的工作，是义工的工作，没有钱可拿，自己还要付费去影印纸张分给民众希望大家拿到纸都会看，看了后会思考。

砂罗越独立好，还是继续留在马来西亚好？ 简单一点说：二选一 脱马独立/留马.  遇到其他不会华语，我用最简单的马来语：Sarawak merdeka baguskah atau dalam Malaysia?

这是砂罗越人民要很努力的要去做的一份工作。 要准备被拒绝。如果有人愿意支持，那也是要考验人民的勇气。在事情还没有明朗化之前，参与民调，大家多少都有点压力。这我看得出。所以我为了不给自己或他人压力，我就给他们民调表格和文章分享回去阅读。华文版民调，我印了２５０张，英文版１００张。有意参加的，愿意帮忙的都可以。我有给他们我本身的名字和电话。３１／１２／２０１８截止日期，不知道我可以收集到多少人。　

民调其实也是醒觉运动。激发人民思考。这个过程，我发现被马来亚霸权打压５５年后的砂人对独立课题很陌生或对独立愿景很绝望。所以，有人就［当机立断］，［不加思索］的跟我说：［不可能的］。开始我想跟他好好来个辩论。场地不对，作罢了。不过，这种回应，给我很够冲刺，让我提升思考。回家来来回回思索，跟先生谈起。这种情形。我先生对砂罗越独立这课题非常热心。所以，经过两人对这课题的探讨。更了解怎么一回事。

        那些会说［不可能］的人，有的说：［砂罗越是只会生金蛋的金鸡。马来西亚联邦政府是不可能会放我们砂国走的。］从这角度切入谈独立是空谈。有的就说：［不可能就是不可能］。他也没解释为什么。好像老早思维就这么认为了。说不可能的人，答案都是［马上给的］。所以挺有趣的。我说砂罗越是否可以独立是人民做决定。不是那位部长或联邦首相说了算。　

        这些人，对砂罗越的定位不解。砂罗越和沙巴是托管给马来亚管理因为当时我们砂人没有行政管理能力。是我猜一定对联合国［去殖民化宣言］中的１５１４号议决很不清楚。因为联合国去殖民化宣言中的１５１４号议决，所以英国政府才在22/7/1963还权于砂罗越人民.  那时砂罗越就独立了。在阴错阳差下跟充满邪念恶谋的马来亚领袖联邦组成这怪胎。记得沙砂联邦国只是托管给马来亚政府。砂罗越和沙巴享有［自治权］，还有［自决权］。　这自决权是握在我们砂人的手里，砂人如果不傻的话，我们可以２０２１年砂国选举时表决砂罗越脱马独立。只要送６０位人民代义士有着[脱马独立议程]进砂议会／ DUN,　他们就可以启动［独立法案］ 宣布独立。禀告联合国砂人的决定就成事了。这是联合国赋予给砂国的独立程序就大功告成了。　

        如果，有人看完后还是不信，自己上网Google search,  www.un.org  Sarawak status: Change.  联合国官方网站查个清楚。这个ｃｈａｎｇｅ　字的意思就是砂国可以完成独立程序的意思。
