Pendatang /Not Pendatang
My late grandparents who came from China were pendatang.  My parents were born in Sarawak, Borneo and so they are not pendatang.  I was born and brought up in Sarawak, Borneo and so I am not a pendatang.

My husband's late parents who came from China were pendatang, too.  My husband was born and brought up in Sarawak, Borneo and so he is not pendatang, either.

My son was born in Australia and was registered as a Malaysian.  He lives here in Sarawak, Borneo and so he is not a pendatang.

Dr. M’s late father who came from India was a pendatang.  "Mahathir's father, Mohamed Sikander Kutty, is of Indian ancestry, hailing from Thalassery town, located in the Kannur district in the state of Kerala, India, while his mother Wan Tempawan, was from Kedah, of Malay descent respectively." (www.wikipedia.org)

Dr. M was born in Malay Peninsular.  Is he  a pendatang?  Did you miss counting Dr M, his siblings and their families to be pendatang?

His wife, Dr. Siti Hasmah, I guess, she is mixed blooded, too.  She has non-native Malay look.  "Born in Klang, Selangor on 12 July 1926, Siti Hasmah was of Minangkabau descent from Rao, West Sumatera."  Do you considered her a pendatang?

Najib’s late grandmother who came from Turkey.  (She is not a turkey that you know. ) was a pendatang.   Yes, her descendants …..Najib’s father and siblings and their families, Najib, his siblings and their families were born in Malay Peninsular .   Did you miss counting them to be pendatang, too?

Rosmah, Najib's dutiful and loyal wife's ancestors may not be native Malay as she does not have the look of native Malay.

Zahid Hamidi’s late grandparents who came from Indonesia were pendatang, too.  Zahid’s father, his siblings  and  Ahmad Zahid Hamidi … like the 99.99% Chinese  were born here either in Peninsular Malay, Sarawak Borneo or Sabah Borneo.  Do you miss counting them to be pendatangs?

Native Malay or not native Malay, I know by their features/looks.  Let’s count how many so called Bumiputra whose ancestry were not from elsewhere around Malay Peninsular or Sabah or Sarawak, Borneo.

Tell me again how  you identify Bumiputra from Non-Bumiputra.  Be honest.  Don’t “make-believe” and fool around anymore.  What you do and behave, I mind you, is watched by Allah over your heads.
It is stupidity in the first degree to say without discrimination that the Chinese are all pendatang when 99.99% of the Chinese were born and brought up here like everybody.

Find out how do you qualify Bumiputra from Non-Bumiputra?  Be honest.  Don’t play “make-believe” anymore.  What you do and behave, I mind you, is watched by Allah over your heads.

Dayaks see red over posting of Ustaz to be in charge of SMK Sungai Paoh

Cobbold (standing second right) and his PBDSB team in a photocall.
MIRI: Dayaks in Sarawak are seeing red over the posting of an Ustaz as principal of SMK Sungai Paoh, a school in rural Sarikei.

Why should the Education Ministry send a teacher from the peninsula here when Sarawak had its own teachers who deserved the post, they questioned?

It’s an insult to the Dayaks in particular and Sarawak in general, as if there were no local teachers or principals capable of serving in SMK Sungai Paoh.

“Sarawak’s rural area is not a ‘dumping ground’ for any Tom, Dick or Harry.

“The community in the area should be taken into account when posting someone as principal of a school like SMK Sungai Paoh,” Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak Baru (PBDSB) supreme council member Cobbold John said yesterday.

He said a local or Sarawakian should be posted to such schools as he or she would know better the local conditions, traditions and customs to avoid any conflict.

The state government should also look into the matter as at least two cases caused by teachers from the peninsula had happened here before, making locals hate them.

Cobbold believed there were many local Sarawakian teachers qualified for the post, especially Dayak teachers.

“Many Dayak teaching graduates who couldn’t find work in the field are forced to work elsewhere,” he said.

He said it was most appropriate for a Dayak to serve in SMK Sungai Paoh as only a Dayak could understand the Dayaks.

“If a Dayak is not given the opportunity now, when will they be given?”
Cobbold said this yesterday when asked for his comments on the statement made by Sarawak Dayak Iban Association (Sadia) Sarikei branch chairman Clement Hillary.

Clement had expressed his sorrow that the Education Ministry had appointed an Ustaz from Kelantan, Ruslin Che Mood as principal of SMK Sungai Paoh in Sarikei.

The post was left vacant after the former principal retired in March.
Following the news on the issue, the people in Sungai Paoh and Dayaks in general have been unhappy.

Cobbold said PBDSB and all Dayak non-governmental organisations (NGOs) fully supported Hillary’s statement because if the Dayaks could not protect their own interest, who else could.

“Since our chief minister has talked about autonomy in Sarawak, let it start with the education field,” he said.

My comments:
Besides press release to express your anger over the posting, I hope the Dayaks will set the dateline and deadline to insist the change of the Peninsular principal to the local principal.  Be assertive and adamant for the local who "would know better the local conditions, traditions and customs to avoid any conflict".

Don't compromise anymore for whatever the reason.  Don't let the Federal imperialist to dominate us anymore.  If Dayaks "set the mark, get set and go", I believe Change will get started here.  This Federal imperialist will not dare to bully us anymore.  Show them your true colour.

Emulate the leaders of the Chinese community who insist and adamant to have the qualified principals and teachers who can communicate well in Mandarin.  It took them years to set right the sick-minded practices of the Federal imperialist.

Besides, it is time to demand our CM Adenan Satem to get back the autonomy of education first and all the autonomy in all the other fields  one by one.  That's it!  Be united and act in accord, we can move mountain.

Interested applicants should have successfully completed a minimum of 12 years of primary and secondary schools with a Higher School Certificate (HSC) qualification or its equivalents.

In addition, students who have obtained a high school/college diploma or its equivalent may also apply. Applications should be submitted to the International Student Admission Unit, Undergraduate Studies Division, using the UNIMAS International Student Undergraduate Application Form.

For more information concerning admission for International Undergraduate Students, please visit the International Affairs Division website.

Financial Info
To obtain a student visa successful applicants must demonstrate that they have sufficient funds to support themselves throughout their study in Malaysia.

As prospective students you must produce the following documents as proof of your ability to support yourself:

An affidavit of financial support plus a confidential bank statement from yourself, a relative or personal sponsor showing that sufficient funds are available to support your studies at UNIMAS.

A sponsorship letter from a government agency, organization or institution who will support you financially until the completion of your studies.

The documents stated above are needed once you have received a formal offer from UNIMAS.

The relevant forms and other related documents that you need to fill in and submit together would be sent to you in the offer package.

Note: UNIMAS presently does not provide any form of scholarship or financial aid to international undergraduate students.

Note: International students are allowed to work part-time up to 20 hrs per week while studying full-time in Malaysia subjected to immigration conditions. However, this source of income would not be able to fully finance their studies at UNIMAS.

My comments:

It is idiotic, illogical and irrational to bar the entry of the UEC holders to Unimas on the pretext that the Chinese Independent Schools have the Histroy subject with different stories and have the BM language standard not on par with the requirements.  It is indeed ridiculous for scholars of your discipline.

What about the History subject and the BM language standard of foreign students?

Why are you not giving the favour to our local UEC holders like how you treat foreign students by giving them intensive language course if you think their BM are below the par?

After all, what do the History subject have to do with the criteria to pursue their studies in Unimas?  Please be flexible, logical, rational and wise to get blessings from Allah.
