The Wishes of Balingian Folk

The Wishes of Balingian Folk     13Mar2014
“The top 7 wishes of Balingian folk”
(9Mar2014 The Borneo Post)
1    A secondary school in Balingian
2.   SK Kpg Tellian
3.   Kpg Baru Bridge
4.   Airport
5.   An additional petrol station in Mukah
6.  Bringing development to Balingian town
7.  Cean wter supply

Ya,  Balingian is situated about 286.1km east-north-east away from the capital city, Kuching.  Well ………. Mukah is about 60km away.   It is far if you commute daily.   It is near if there is a rush/gush of water from Mukah just in case.
The aluminium factory is 25km which may look far yet so near if you have to bear the dust and  problems like water pollution as a result of the discharge.  It is near if the wind carries the aluminium dust particles blowing to the place.   Are there any such discharges?
Balingian is said to be in the zone of the Sarawak Corridor of Renewal Energy.   Ng ………  The offshore oil and gas and the development nearby are said also a booster to the town.     Goodlah.  I wonder what development plan had the ex-CM,  Taib Mahmud told them to dream about and made them forget to pester, cry, scream, shrill  and shout for, express fury and even threaten to ask for the urgent and immediate needs like a bridge, a primary school and a lower secondary school as well as water supply.
Ng………..what had ex-CM promised them to majority win the seat there?   This ex-CM for 33years, no doubt, had all the skills and tricks to win the hearts and minds of the people as they were so passive in thoughts and let him lead them by the nose/ears/hair.
It is incredible to see that Balingian represented by ex-CM Taib Mahmud being so deprived of such basic facilities like clean water supply, a bridge, schools,  an additional petrol station in Mukah.
For water supply,  the folk there living in the town area face dirty water supply all the time.   However, the people on the other side across the Balingian river have to depend on river and rain for water supply after the burst of the pipe years ago.   Alamak!  What a curse!  What a shame!  What a pity!
About 10 years ago, there was a primary school called SK Kpg Tellian at a walking distance for the children.  But the school was too run-down for occupation and the pupils are forced to go to SK. Mukah which is about 3 Km away.    So they have to go there by bicycle, motorcycle, car or van (mostly illegal) .
After primary six, if the pupils want to continue schooling, they have to go to the Mukah town to live in school boarding houses as young as 13 years old as nobody can afford in time, energy and expenses to commute 60km daily.
Who can?   Is it too much to request for a lower secondary school to be set up there to cater the needs of 3 Melanau villages?
Ya,  they also wish for a proper bridge to replace Kpg Baru Bridge which is too old, risky  and run-down /dilapidated for the users there.   As reported “Kpg Baru Bridge, a  small bridge in balingian linking Kpg Baru to Kpg Lintang  has been faithfully serving the villager for more than 30 years.”
Ng……..this bridge “is used by Melanau villagers of Kpg Masjid, Kpg Pular, Kpg Linang, Kpg Baru and Kpg Suyong”  This bridge has been too old and has not been given proper maintenance.  As reported “………..most drivers refuse to use it fearing that it might collapse under the weight of their vehicles.“    Luckily,  the Balingian by-election offer the folk there [ the chance of half a century].   Ng ……..now they have the choice to choose BN/PR.
I hope these people have learnt their lessons and know what to do in the coming by election on 29Mar2014 to break the spell of vain promises.  I hope they  are willing to wait for 2 more years for the change of the state government for good and better.   I hope they have started exercising their faculty of thoughts to study, analyse and understand how to resolve their years/age-old problems of being fooled by the BN government.
      Ng…….I hope…………………………………………………………

这是 [有志者,事竟成]/When there is a will, there is a way的事.
