Heavy rain floods quarters, classroom block at SK Trusa

KAPIT: The teachers’ quarters and a classroom block at SK Trusa in Sungai Belawai here were flooded yesterday following torrential rain.
The downpour began around 3am and resulted in Sungai Belawai bursting its banks and inundating the two buildings located on lower ground.
The closure of schools nationwide meant there were no boarders at SK
Trusa, with only teachers and supporting staff present during the day.
It was learned that the school’s headmaster has notified the Kapit Education office of the incident.
SK Trusa is about a two-hour journey by longboat from Kapit town.
